16 Jul 2026 Peace Gathering-Peace Pole Unveiling Jul 16, 2026 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM You’re Invited: Peace Gathering & Peace Pole Unveiling The four Rotary clubs of Kingston warmly invite you and your organization to join us for a special Peace Gathering as we unveil Kingston’s very first Peace Pole sponsored by Rotary. 📅 Thursday, July 16, 2026 🕛 12:00 p.m. 📍 Breakwater Park just past Gord Downey Pier at King St and Lower University Ave see map This special gathering celebrates our shared commitment to peace, unity, inclusion, and community. The Peace Pole, inscribed with the message “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in multiple languages, will stand as a lasting symbol of hope, friendship and commitment to peace for Kingstonians and visitors alike. This project is a collaborative initiative of Kingston’s four Rotary clubs: · Rotary Club of Cataraqui-Kingston · Rotary Club of Kingston · Rotary Club of Kingston-Frontenac · Rotary Club of Kingston Waterfront Join us as we gather in the spirit of peace and celebrate this meaningful addition to our community. 13 Aug 2026 Easter Seals Camp Merrywood Aug 13, 2026 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM Join us for an afternoon and BBQ at Easter Seals Camp Merrywood Easter Seals Camp Merrywood is located on a beautiful peninsula stretching out into Big Rideau Lake. The camp sits on 30 acres of property between Smiths Falls and Perth in Eastern Ontario.Built in 1948, Camp Merrywood began as a summer camp for kids with polio. Six campers attended in its first year.The site has 12 buildings including: six camper cabins that can accommodate up to 72 campers per session, a health hut, dining room and lodge, music and theatre building, nature building, specially adapted swimming pool. Merrywood offers a full waterfront program and activities such as sailing, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing.At Easter Seals Camp Merrywood, campers expand their leadership abilities through a myriad of creative arts programs and multi-sports activities.
