Pakistan FloodingPakistan
To help with the Pakistan flooding earlier this week, 406 boxes have already been distributed and another 600 will be distributed by Wednesday. These boxes were pre-positioned by Mark Pearson on his last deployment to Pakistan. We are working with local agency, NRSP (National Rural Support Programme), who we have worked with in Pakistan for the past five years, to distribute the boxes.

UPDATE ON PAKISTAN: August 2010

ShelterBox partners in Pakistan have already distributed 1000 tents to survivors of the devastating floods that continue to ravage the country. Rotary Karachi and the NDMA (National Disaster Management Agency) are now distributing the tents in the Sindh province inPakistan south east Pakistan, the latest area to be affected by the spreading floodwater.

The  tents were taken from
prepositioned stock that was sent to southern Pakistan in June. ShelterBox is continuing to move aid into the region.

The need for aid in Pakistan is worsening by the day and it is now imperative that we employ the fastest and most efficient way of getting shelter to those who need it most. To ensure this happens we continue to work closely with our partners in Pakistan to get our equipment distributed in the flood-hit regions.

This disaster is still evolving as the flood water moves further south towards the Arabian Sea displacing thousands more people as it spreads. Our hearts go out to everyone caught up in the disaster.

Your ongoing support is needed.

While we are in the process of applying for permanent charitable tax status, the World Community Service Foundation of District 5550, a registered charity in Canada, is carrying on the program and accepting donations.

Moving Forward

Our volunteer working group is running daily operations, our ambassadors are carrying on with fundraising projects and our Canadian ShelterBox Response Team (SRTs) will continue to deliver emergency disaster relief to desperate people around the world.

The strong connection between ShelterBox and Rotary will continue. More than 7,000 rotary clubs worldwide have supported ShelterBox since it was launched ten years ago.
